Alex Perkins (They/Them)
Alex has been painting murals across the Midwest since 2013 with their latest installation landing them a spot on WGN's Spotlight Chicago.
Teaching at the School of The Art Institute since 2022, Alex is bringing their skills and experience to the PAPYRJAM shop offering courses and workshops on Risography, Children's Book Illustration, Digital Art, and much more!
Drawing since they could hold a crayon, Alex began their love of print making while attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. While working at MCAD's service bureau, they found their obsession and passion: the art of the print.
Specializing in risography, Alex has sunk over a decade into many print, drawing, and painting disciplines and has been published in children's books (Mama's Just Like You & Diarou's Not So Different) and art books (Nova & Mali Publishing).
